TAC 2006

The 2006 Trading Agent Competition has now been completed. TAC-06 featured two games: the "classic" travel-shopping game, and a supply chain management (SCM) game. Preliminary rounds began on 3 April 2006, involving 31 teams (23 in SCM and 8 in Travel) from 19 countries. A full list of participating teams is available.

Based on the qualifying and seeding rounds, the 8 Travel agents and 21 SCM agents proceeded to the final tournament, held in conjunction with AAMAS-06 in Hakodate, Japan on 9–11 May. The first day of SCM quarter-finals and Travel semi-finals coincided with the Workshop on Trading Agent Design and Analysis (TADA/AMEC-06), where researchers presented their latest results on trading agent technology.

The competition in both games turned out to be quite sharp. Although the table below lists only the top-scoring three agents for each game, it appeared that many more entries exhibited strong trading strategy. Complete final-round score tables are also available.

Travel 1. RoxyBot Brown University
2. Walverine University of Michigan
3. WhiteDolphin University of Southampton
SCM 1. TacTex University of Texas
2. PhantAgent University of Bucharest
3. Deep Maize University of Michigan

A few articles and other descriptions of TAC-06 agents are currently available. We will post additional reports as the participants provide post-tournament agent descriptions and analyses.
